Foodie Pen Pals - January!

As I mentioned earlier this month, I participated in a Foodie Pen Pal through the Lean Green Bean. I was paired with my friend Nikki to send a box and then paired with Christine over at Oatmeal in my Bowl to send me a box. Nikki will be guest posting (see next post!) on my blog as she is not a blogger herself. For what Ms. Christine sent me, see below. If you are interested in participating, see the bottom of this post.

Ms. Christine sent me a fabulous box full of yummy snacks! She and I clearly had the same thought in what to put in our boxes (I packed a very similar box for my friend Nikki) with lots of goodies from Trader Joes and other fun places. Almonds, chocolate, nut snack bars, three types of mini peanut butter, sweethearts, cranberries, tea, wasabi seaweed snacks, this girl has got me loaded up with awesome stuff!! I have been enjoying the almonds (they were the individually packed ones from TJ's) at work with a little bit o' chocolate. I am a happy girl!

My foodie box!!

Sweet note!

Look at all that yumminess!!

Close-up! Sweethearts, Chocolate, Almonds, OH MY!

Snacks for work and cranberries for my oatmeal!

Thanks Christine!!

Here's some info from Lindsay over at the Lean Green Bean if you are interested in participating with Foodie Pen Pals!

And now it's time for some details about Foodie Pen pals.  In case you’re a new reader, here’s a reminder of what the program is all about:

-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your pen pal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your pen pal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your pen pal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)

-Foodie Pen pals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your pen pal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.

If you’re interested in participating for February, please send  an email to Lindsay at theleangreenbean@gmail.com and include the following information:
-Your full name
-Your email address
-Your blog name/address
-Your twitter handle (if applicable)
-WHETHER YOU ARE A US RESIDENT OR CANADIAN RESIDENT. - this is SUPER important so I can get you on the right list!

I will need to hear from you by February 4th as pairings will be emailed on February 5th!

  1. I those are some fantastic items.

I think it is fun to pack travel sized items so that people can take the stuff to work (and then you can get more variety in the box).

  2. Oh my gosh you lucked out with all of those delicious goodies! I pretty much love everything from Trader Joe's. I can't get it out here in Japan so I get sooo excited when I get anything from there :)
